Book 1 of 5 — The Wildbound Chronicles
YA supernatural
Chapters 1–8 of ~50,000 words
Five mountains ring the town in a circle too perfect to be natural. An abandoned water treatment facility crumbles at the valley's heart, closed since the year 2000 — officially due to structural concerns, unofficially for reasons no one talks about in daylight. The older kids know better than to go near it. The compasses spin. The cameras catch things they shouldn't. And the water, sometimes, flows uphill.
Dean Piscine and his four closest friends — Laurence, Charlie, Benjie, and Waldo — aren't looking for trouble when they stumble into an ancient underground chamber beneath the facility. But the chamber has been waiting for them. Ancient spirits bound to the earth's waterways choose their vessels that morning, and nothing about the five boys will ever be the same again.
Dean can feel every drop of water in the mountain — in the pipes, in the clouds, in his friends' veins. Laurence carries the weight of stone. Charlie moves faster than thought. Benjie hears things no one has said yet. And Waldo disappears into shadows that don't belong to him.
They're called Dextrals. And somewhere in St. Summerfield, five others have just discovered they are not.
The Dextrals
Dean Piscine — Aquawolf
Controls water. Feels every drop — in the air, the pipes, the earth. The ocean in human form.
Laurence Vale — Brutebear
Superhuman strength and endurance. Moves like a mountain deciding to walk.
Charlie Linder — Swiftclaw
Speed beyond sight. Blinks across a room before you finish a thought.
Benjie Kew — Temporalowl
Reads minds and sees time. Past, present, and future all hit him at once — whether he wants them to or not.
Waldo Renz — Shadowwolf
Melts into shadows. Less invisible, more gone.
Power always has an opposing force. Somewhere in St. Summerfield, five others have just discovered they are the Sinistrals.
The Aquawolves series
The Wildbound Chronicles is a five-book YA supernatural series set in St. Summerfield, a quiet South African town with a secret buried deep in its earth — ancient spirits sleeping in sacred aquifers, waiting for the right five people to wake them. Across five books, the series follows Dean, Laurence, Charlie, Benjie, and Waldo from their first terrifying taste of power through escalating conflict, hidden truths, and a final confrontation with an ancient evil that has been stirring beneath the earth for centuries. At its core, Aquawolves is about what happens when ordinary teenagers are chosen by something extraordinary — and whether friendship is enough to carry them through.
For fans of Percy Jackson, Teen Wolf, and Harry Potter. Part supernatural thriller, part coming-of-age story, entirely its own world.
